With a comfortable familiarity for both the craft and machinery around him, Renan walks across the three workstations islanding the middle of the room and deftly makes a few small adjustments on a locker that a student is helping fix in the welding and soldering vocational workshop. While Renan did not grow up at NPH, years studying in the Ranch’s metal workshop, as well as over a decade leading it as instructor, has made the metal “taller” his second home.
